Suhasini + Mani Ratnam's Home
2022

A colonial style bungalow completely renovated from scratch to create classical yet modern home that's filled with the client's glorious private collection of art amongst warm sunny yellow tones, plants and ample light. The home has a fully renovated courtyard and stairwell space along with our signature paneling work in the drawing room and a concrete accent wall in the dining along other stunning elements.

 

This home is the current private residence of Mani Ratnam and Suhasini Hasan, with their family and pets as their previous home undergoes rennovation.  

The Farmhouse
2021

The house is located at a fully functioning farm . The common areas in the home are influenced by the client's hometown of Nagercoil which has a unique aesthetic as it is on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

 

The house has a lot of antiques and memorabilia from their many travels, both domestic and international. The private spaces of the house marries these traditional South Indian styles with a more rustic, countryside style that work together to create a cozier living space for everyday use. This house has been featured on Architectural Digest as well as Good Homes Magazine

Clover in the Sky
2023

This sage green, blue and grey home for a young restaurateur and musician is truly free flowing in terms of layout, colors and textures. To achieve this - We installed a bespoke island bar unit in the middle of the dining area that opens up into a cloudy wall-tiled lounge. This allows my client to host larger groups of people at home. We added a grills to the full length windows and seating via steps to create a cozy nooks in the rooms. We also decided to take the blue accent TV wall to the ceiling to create an illusion of a higher, limitless ceiling.

Blue Door Home
2022

The house is a take on the young global-indian aesthetic. It reflects a sense of lightness and playfulness while still being relatively rooted in tradition. My clients are young, adventurous and have lived in different parts of the world and so I wanted their home to truly encompass what it is to be influenced by different journeys and experiences in life. 

 

The home is a practical experiment in color theory. It is anything but safe/generic in terms of the elements used within the space.  This house has been featured on Elle Decor Magazine 

Minimalistic Apartment 
2021

This minimal yet traditional home was designed in 2021 for Abirami and her family of 4. With 2 young kids living in the space, it was important for this space to be easily tidied, elegant and modern, Not to mention- Child Friendly. 

 

We have used a lot of white in the woodwork to juxtapose the textures and colors of the walls and hardware. If you look close, you will notice hints of child proofing in all the edges. 

Villa on ECR

2017

This 6500 sq ft Indo-Classical style home was designed in 2017 for Dr. Ramachandran, Chennai. The space is a fusion of English and Indian cultures, with a mantle in the drawing room that is made of marble, wood, and limestone. The space is a play of materials, textures, and patterns, all in harmony.

 

PS: The dog ( Biscuit) from the photos in the drawing room was found at site during the construction phase of the project. My clients, being animal lovers, decided to adopt Biscuit once the site was handed over.

Little Princess By Daisy

2020

My client, Daisy was already well established as a Bridal Boutique in Chennai when she contacted me regarding designing her new exclusive boutique for children’s wear on TTK road, Chennai. The space was to reflect its brand identity of a little princess, But also keeping in mind the design sensibilities of her existing space.

 

This pastel project was designed and executed on a very tight timeline and budget during the pandemic year. My client, execution team and I had figured out the space within a few days and started work on site almost immediately.
